Sales Executive NY

About the Role & the Team

inRiver is expanding its sales team to support our continued growth. As a sales executive you will be selling a state of the art Cloud based PIM solution in a fast moving and high growth market. The U.S. market is aggressively expanding right now, and we are adding to the team of already 20 here in the states.

As a sales executive you will responsible for managing the entire sales cycle (lead generation, qualification, close).  You will lead high-level conversations with senior executives about their business, marketing challenges, strategies and their operations with the ultimate responsibility for driving the sales process. Target customers for this role are mid-market (<$1B) manufacturers, retailers and distributors in North America.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently exceed your Quarterly Sales Targets ($1M ACV)
  • In your first 90 days you will be expected to:
  • Manage your own introductory meetings. You will have a sales engineer assigned to assist you with demonstrations and technical questions
  • You get a great degree of freedom and, together with your leader, you will organize and plan your sales work and activities
  • Manage daily work in our CRM tool
  • Build your territory sales plan
  • Grow your pipeline to 3-4x’s quarterly target
  • Learn the inRiver Product Marketing Cloud (iPMC) solution intimately / High-level demo certification
  • Collaboratively work with Sales Development Reps, Partners & Marketing to formulate your lead generation plan


  • Location: NY Metro area with ability to travel 1-2 days a week for client meetings as needed
  • 5+ years of Challenger sales, preferably from a business area that demands creative thinking and multiple decision makers
  • Ability to independently drive a sales process from initial call to close
  • Educate and differentiate inRiver offering from current state solution or competitors
  • Solid understanding of the challenges and opportunities a sales and marketing department has around how they manage product content


It is a benefit if you also have

  • Experience from working with sales in SaaS software within E-Commerce, CMS or Marketing software
