About the role & the team

inRiver is expanding its sales engineering team to support our continued growth. As a Sr. Sales Engineer, you will engage directly with our prospects and work with Sales and/or our Partners to lead the technical discovery of our customer/prospect needs and to present the proper technical solutions. In order to support the prospect in their decision process, it is important that you have a good overview of the system landscape when it comes to e-commerce, content management, and digital marketing, as well as the back-end systems supporting the PIM process. It is also important that you have a good understanding of the Retail, Distribution and Manufacturing industries.

These activities include assisting the sales and partner representatives with sales presentations, product demonstrations, training seminars.

This position will also play a role in managing our global demo environment, support other SEs in demo prep, build custom extensions, and engage directly with our prospects as needed as they try to determine the right solution for them.  This is truly a consultative technologist role and will be seen as an expert throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a consultant, senior sales engineer, and/or technology project manager
  • Deep knowledge within the PIM/DAM/MDM domain with focus on digital marketing and ecommerce
  • Expert knowledge about information integration and information logistics
  • Expert understanding of the modern system landscape for data management and ecommerce
  • Proven experience selling and implementing Enterprise software
  • BS/BA in Systems Engineering BICT or equivalent

  • Customer focused, and a partner advocate Know our clients’ needs, market trends, and propose compelling value propositions for the product’s development
  • Capable of writing, executing, and reporting on business plans 

Technical Skills

  • Mastering PIM/MDM/DAM and related systems and services
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms such as Magento and Salesforce
  • Knowledge about print production using Adobe InDesign is desirable
  • Working knowledge of Web development
  • Experience working with Enterprise software, e-commerce, CMS and/or search- and merchandising engines
  • Experience participating in systems implementation projects
  • Experience in Demo-methodologies like Great Demo! and Demo2Win
  • Previous experience in selling in a SaaS environment
